Highly recommend the book if you want to know and understand Taiwan. This book can be your first book about Taiwan. It talks about everything, including culture, history, social phenomena, and trend ... ...etc. In addition, it mentioned a lot about aboriginal culture which many Taiwanese don't know very well, like me. I thought there are only 9 ethics groups in Taiwan because we have Formosa Aboriginal Culture Village which is called 9 e Ethics Group Culture Village in Chinese (九族文化村). Actually, it is about 14 groups. Most importantly, it is more than that. that's lots of interesting you don't about Taiwan but he knows. I should read more books about Taiwan to introduce true and deeply Taiwan.
